Classes
Omaha Birth & Babies believes that the ability to birth, feed and care for our babies is inherent, a part of our human design but that modern culture, social expectation and contradictory information undermines our confidence. Our classes provide practical, safe, evidence based and hands on instruction to not only teach, but prepare new and expecting parents for childbirth, breastfeeding and to care for their new baby

We chose to have our baby under the guiding care of a midwife and doula. Initially, we thought that since we were working with a midwife, we wouldn't need a doula, but now, if someone told me I could only choose to have a midwife *or* a doula at my birth, I would choose my doula. She was completely hands-on during my labor helping me with the physical task of bringing baby into the world, but she also respected my ability to listen to my body's own cues. She let me lead my process and stepped in with suggestions and reminders when necessary.

I used (Andrea) for my fourth child...but my first unmedicated birth. I knew somewhat what to expect from having other kiddos...but once in labor was oh so happy to have her there. She did a great job at supporting me to keep labor progressing, and at the same time listening to my concerns and supporting my voice with the medical staff.

She has been an amazing support—so knowledgeable about babies And breastfeeding, a personal cheerleader, a caretaker when I could barely manage basic survival, a shoulder to cry on , and, ultimately, she has become a true friend and part of our family.”
