Words like kind, compassionate, calming and heart of a servant is how Jessie’s past birth families have described her. Jessie made her entrance into the doula world in 2012. She has had the honor of supporting hundreds of Nebraskan families through their pregnancies, birth and beyond. Jessie’s certifications, experience and perfect mixture of gentle and strong support make her into a doula Omaha Birth & Babies is overjoyed to have working with our clients.
Jessie has three amazing children of her own. With her first she was induced, received an epidural very early on in labor, and did not understand the process of that which was happening with her body. When she had her second, she researched everything she could and learned how to advocate for herself. This led her to having a natural, very empowering, beautiful birth. Her third was born via a gentle, family centered cesarean section due to breech presentation.
Having had three very different births, Jessie understands first hand just how important it is to have solid and unbiased support regardless of the situation or outcome. As a birth doula, her focus is helping families work together through this journey by offering unbiased support, evidence based information and a caring heart. She is known for coaching partners as the number one supportpillar for the birthing mother. Jessie firmly believes your pregnancy and birth of your baby should be a unique and empowering experience, one that you can recount with joy every time.
Jessie is originally from Florida and moved to Omaha when her youngest was only a couple weeks old. Having raised three amazing children in a different state than her extended family, Jessie understands the importance of being supported as new and repeat parents. She believes that society has put too much pressure on new mothers to do everything for themselves and their families. She understands that mothers need to be taken care of in such a vulnerable time in their lives. Having two grown children who have left the nest and a teenager at home, her experience taught her that early support lasts throughout all of motherhood. Support, knowledge, and a shoulder to lean on is exactly what you’ll get the moment she walks into your home as a postpartum doula. You will know that you and your baby are going to be loved and taken care of, just as she would her own family. You will instantly feel like you can take a breath of fresh air!
When she is not supporting OBB families, Jessie enjoys spending time with her husband and children. From Sunday family dinners to game nights to camping, trying new restaurants on date nights to salon and Netflix days with her daughters to riding sports bikes with her husband and son, she is always finding ways to spend as much time with her family as possible. If she does get a moment to herself, you might catch her watching true crime shows or napping with her two snuggly cats.
