Certified CPR and First Aide
Mechel realized her passion for caring for children at a very young age. Helping her mother with her little sister, eager to do nappy changes, cleaning, and cuddling! She took her first baby sitting job at 12 years old, and since then, it has been her life’s passion to lovingly care and nurture children of all ages, infants being her absolute favorite to care for.
Mechel has a combined experience of over 40 years working with children and families in both private and public settings. As a stay-at-home mother, she provided in home daycare for her friends and family for years. In the later years, when her boys went to school, Mechel worked as site director in the Omaha Schools Foundation, before and after school program. After growing her love for childcare for five wonderful years in that position, Mechel transitioned into the Omaha Public Schools as a paraprofessional for over six additional years.
In the most recent years, Mechel has helped care for and support many families including her now adult sons, and their young children. Mechel enjoys supporting families and helping them navigate through this new adventure in their lives.
Mechel’s family immigrated to America from England in 1982 and comes from a family of seven.
